Simplifying British Family History!

Following the astounding success of programmes like 'Who Do You Think You Are?', there has been a major explosion of popular interest in researching our family histories; finding who our ancestors were and how they lived. This can be daunting to anyone who has never attempted this before and the availability of resources, ranging from the easily available online records through to those difficult to find ones held in remote archives, can be over-whelming.

For those who are just starting out, or even the more experienced who have exhausted the basic births, marriage & deaths registers, this website can help guide the way. It has been designed by someone who has been smitten by genealogy for over thirty years now and who wants to encourage other people to share in that passion. This website is aimed at helping and assisting you, not to do it for you as there are many people out there who can do that for you (at some cost of course!). Obviously, for various reasons and at certain times, that may well be the right way to go for some, but something very enjoyable is lost there.

Please feel free to look around and if you need any help or if there is anything that is not clear, then please get in contact by using the menu button above.

This is a not-for-profit sister site to the Reffell Family History website and offers the knowledge and experience gained in researching family history by offering free online resources, backed up by personal advice if required at a very modest cost.
